An asset manager with a focus on responsible investment

Their challenge

In an increasingly crowded sustainability marketplace, our client needed the means to engage with and integrate the views of prospects into their business strategy, to expand their responsible investment offering and achieve competitive advantage.

Our approach

Applying a design-thinking methodology, in collaboration with creative thinkers and cause-driven individuals, we ran a co-creation workshop to develop a value proposition for an innovative community. From the three-day sessions we helped our client form a deeper understanding of the prospects’ difficulty in realising their values through their investments. Prospects shared their views on responsible investment, sustainable living and what would motivate them to join a purpose-led, online community.

Outcome/impact

The community value proposition created the foundation on which to build a community to engage the next generation of customers, as well as informing the design of future investment propositions in order to future proof the business.

Statement testing

Our client

Recently re-branded asset manager

Their challenge

Develop a positioning statement for marketing teams to bring their purpose-led brand to life, as well as driving consideration amongst new target markets, including investors and audiences who’ve lost trust in the financial services industry.

Our approach

We used a rapid-testing, AI platform to interrogate different positioning statements. We measured the performance of the statement against industry norms and delivered a quantitative assessment of appeal, relevance, comprehension and behavioural change broken down by customer segments.

Outcome/impact

The test results gave direction and informed the next stage of statement writing. It showed the client which statements were stronger and what words should be included or discounted in future iterations of the statements.

Their challenge

Our client needed help to deliver an ambitious global growth strategy, that focused on developing their new brand positioning and client engagement models. Their aim was to create a market leading service that was both client-centric and sustainable in the long term.

Our approach

We designed a programme of global strategic research with institutional, wholesale clients and prospects across 18 countries. Insight from this qualitative research helped us to shape our client’s customer experience strategy. At both a regional and sector level, we gained a deep understanding of their different clients’ needs, wants and expectations, in order to define a best-in-class client servicing model. Throughout the process, we unearthed areas of unmet client needs, identified points of clear differentiation, as well as challenges, that could redefine our client’s competitive position.

Outcome/impact

Our country-specific and global insight reports have driven the development a global client experience strategy, and enabled our client to better position themselves in a digital-first world.

Their challenge

Our client wanted to understand the drivers and barriers to investment in the asset they promote, notably among global institutional investors.

Our approach

We ran an extensive insight programme across 7 markets over a three-month period, in order to build a detailed picture of investment decision makers’ needs, motivations, attitudes and behaviours. Our programme involved depth conversations with asset owners, investment consultants, CIOs and portfolio managers across the wealth and asset management industry; pop-up communities; quant validation of key findings and social analytics. This work culminated in persona development of the client’s target audience.

Outcome/impact

The insights delivered through our research programme enabled our client to refine their communications strategy and thought leadership proposition, target social media campaigns more effectively and put in place brand and media tracking KPIs.
